Vingle Community Specialist

“Oh sh*t, you too?!”

This is the moment you think “this person really gets me.”  Why?  Because this “stranger” feels or thinks exactly as you do.  Regardless of how long you have known each other, this moment not only connects you, it frees you up to be more of your true self.  You no longer worry about judgement or being misunderstood.

Vingle not only believes every person seeks this moment, but that they deserve this moment.  All day.  Every day.  This is why we have tirelessly built a global community platform that currently helps over 7 million people per month forge meaningful connections through their shared passions.  Looking to serve more communities, we invite all those who wish to see online connections revolutionized, who wish to see passions exalted, not hidden,  to join our Community Specialist team.

Visual Designer Recruiting

As a designer, do you strive to create the next big thing used by billions?
Do you value learning more than money?
Is it important to you to work on a team that truly appreciates design?

Then, let our designer tell you why we may be a good fit with you:

Dear designers,

Hi, I’m Rachel, designer at Vingle. I’d like to share with you my experience at Vingle. Coming to Vingle I had no idea what a startup was or what working at one would be like, only that the term refers to a young company, like a new born baby you have to raise.

People have asked me, “Isn’t it hard to work at a startup?” Yes, it’s tough, but that is why I learned faster. At Vingle, since you work with a small group of people, each person is expected to take on different roles at same time. As the only visual designer, I have had to take care of everything involving aesthetic decisions. Likewise since I work within the product team, I am involved in every aspect of the product development process from creating small buttons to recruiting team members. This intensive experience has accelerated my growth not only as a visual designer but also as a designer who understands the whole business. In large companies your experience and expertise shrink over time, at a startup your field of expertise expands.

Vingle, as a company, really appreciate the value of design, thus members respect the designer’s opinion. Many internet/mobile companies still do not realize the importance of design, or do not know how to add value through design. If a company doesn’t value the work of a profession, that profession as a whole cannot be respected. Since the founder of Vingle started her career as a designer, Vingle focuses on maximizing the value of design. Unlike at some other companies, where designers are sometimes forced to design for clients with poor/low design standards, Vingle designers are encouraged to pursue the best visual quality.
My experiences at Vingle have helped me realize the importance of being passionate about your work. We only recruit those who have strong drive and vision to improve the world, not those just looking to clock hours and build a fat bank account. This has created an energetic, positive, and inspirational aura that is ever present in the Vingle office. When you realize the value of your effort, you naturally start to feel a sense of ownership.

I am determined to make Vingle the world’s best visual experience. I’m looking for passionate fellow designers who are ready to enjoy this journey together.

– from Rachel

Vingle’s Inspiration(English)

http://www.vingle.net/posts/2246

When I was a kid, I had a friend who loved baseball. Every time I think about him, I always just picture him talking about baseball. He always told me who won the game, how he got this really cool star player’s memorabilia, and why this player was so great. He went on and on, but no matter how long he talked about baseball, his eyes always had this twinkle that you couldn’t help but love.

A few years ago, I started scuba diving. Before my first dive, so I spent countless hours researching and thinking about what it would be like. But all that research didn’t matter, because as soon as I dived, nothing mattered. It was so much better than any picture, any video, or anyone could have hoped to describe. There I was, playing with fishes, watching my air bubbles, and it hit me: I was never supposed to be here, but look at me now. It was a sense of freedom and bliss that I have never before felt. Since then, I have become a scuba diving mania, and find myself always trying to share the sensations, the sights, and the beauty of scuba diving to anyone who would listen. Then one day, one of my friends told me that whenever I talked about scuba diving, I have this little twinkle in my eyes. At that moment I realized, I had become my childhood friend.

It is our hope that everyone has that one thing that for no reason whatsoever, they can absolutely love. It can be a hobby, collection, game, or whatever you want, that no matter how tired or stressed you are, it can always make things better. It can be an activity like a sport or a game, or an object like a geeky device. It can be an actor or a rock band. We all deserve something that no matter what always makes us happy and that we want to share with others. We all deserve to have such a passion.

We, the Vingle staff, are a group of people gathered from 10 different countries to build an international playground that transcends all borders. We want to help people both connect, and enjoy talking about their passions. Your passion is the life of the party! Enjoy the party!

(Korean)

http://www.vingle.net/posts/22247
